Letter:
To Whom
It May Concern:
The
following document is a petition created by the devoted fans of Kimberly
McCullough, regarding the issue of our sincere request to keep the character of
Robin from being recasted, as well as stopping a romantic relationship with
Jason and Carly from developing, upon the news of Steve Burton's brief
return.
As fans
of Kimberly, we can only hope that she will return one day, but until that
happens, we want nothing more than to make sure that the role of Robin is for
her and her alone.
We have
watched Robin grow up into a lovely young woman on GH. Through laughter, tears, heartbreak, loss
and love, Kimberly has brought us the touching story of this incredible, loved
character. Kimberly is the one and only
Robin. Thirteen years of her life was
spent on GH, acting out the many trials and tribulations of the spunky Robin
Scorpio's life.
If you
think back to times in Robin's life, times that brought us happiness and
sorrow, you will find truth in this message.
When Robin's parents died, the way Kimberly played out those scenes with
Mac....how we all, for at least one moment, lost control of all our
senses.....how we felt it hard to breathe.....how we felt as if we knew her
pain.....like we had lost a part of ourselves, too.
The
stories of Stone's AIDS/ Robin's HIV, Brenda's death, her new life and new
found love and trust in Jason, and the last days she spent on GH. In those scenes, Kimberly proved her
undeniable talent as an actress, taking us all to a place we didn't know
existed. Now, try and imagine someone else playing Robin's part.
We the
fans of Kimberly want Robin and Jason back together again, forever this
time. We want to see the incredible
chemistry that Kimberly and Steve share.
This
couple was about what every couple should be: Love, Honor, Respect, and the
TRUTH. Words cannot even begin to
describe the beauty of this couple.
Truly unforgettable, as said by fans and the ABC Daytime viewers
themselves. How easy it was to lose
ourselves in their magic, cry when they cried, smile when they smiled and
notice their undeniable attraction.
Jason's acceptance of Robin's health - not caring that she was HIV
positive - wanting to share a life with her and take care of her was truly
amazing. It only takes one moment to
realize that these two were meant to be together - and with no one else! We want a glorious wedding, more play out of
the HIV storyline, and a baby. It is time
that GH and ABC daytime brought back the storylines with meanings, lessons and
positive impact upon the viewers. And
this supercouple is definitely the way to spice up the show and the now
dropping ratings. As dedicated and
determined fans, we deserve this. We
deserve to see our couple get their happy ending.
With
Steve returning, and Kimberly not, the possibility of Jason taking Carly away
from Port Charles with him has come up.
This is so WRONG! Having watched
the romance and true love of Robin and Jason, we cannot even ponder this. Jason and Carly do not belong together, and
if anything should be strictly friends.
Steve doesn't have the chemistry and magic with Sarah that he does with
Kimberly. Robin respected Jason, didn't
lie to him and gave him everything she had - loved him with her whole
heart. Carly, on the other hand, is the
complete opposite of her. She is a
liar, backstabber and will do anything to get her way. How could Jason possibly love her? Not just because of the person she is, but
because she couldn't give him half of what Robin could. It makes no sense and
is only a road to disaster.
Daytime
television has lost many viewers due to their lack of listening to what the
viewers want and care about.
Supercouples from Luke and Laura to Robert and Anna to Jason and Robin,
generations apart, brought magic to our lives that we'll never forget. Now, the romance in daytime no longer
exists. A quick 'roll in the hay' or
one night stand is all the viewers are ever provided with. What's happened to breathtaking lines,
passionate love scenes and a woman sticking to one man? Of course a soap opera is supposed to have
scum, but this is a bit of a stretch.
We want to see love. Our
opinions should be important to the directors /writers /staff. And if they are, here us loud and clear: do
whatever you can to bring Kimberly back - but do not make a Robin recast. There is no Robin without Kimberly. We miss her dearly, and hope that one day
she will find her way back to GH.
Thank
you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
Fans of
Kimberly McCullough
